Professor Muneesh Kumar, Vice President, is Head, Department of Financial Studies, University of Delhi. He has been teaching the students of MFC at University of Delhi since the inception of the course in 1986. University of Delhi was the pioneer in conceiving and successfully serving this course for the first time in India. His primary responsibilities include teaching IT courses such as ‘Management Information Systems’ and ‘IT for Managers’, to MFC students and guiding research in the area.
Prof. Muneesh obtained his B.Com. (Hons.) degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce, (D.U.) in the year 1973. Later, he obtained his Masters in Commerce in the year 1975 and M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Delhi. He served Grindlays Bank for two years before joining teaching profession in 1975. Prof. Muneesh has authored two books and edited a book on Indian Capital Market- An Empirical Study. His book on Business Information Systems is one of the leading textbooks for management students. He has contributed several research papers in various national and international journals of repute. He has been awarded the best paper prize by the Institute of Companies Secretaries of India for his paper on “Marketing of Financial Products on Internet”. His earlier paper on Human Resource Accounting was also awarded a similar prize by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has been a visiting fellow at the Maison de Sciences de Hommes, Paris. He has made presentations at several National and International Conferences in India and abroad.
He was conferred with ‘Distinguished Alumnus Award’ by his alma mater, Shri Ram College of Commerce. He is member of Accounting Standards Board of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and life member of Computer Society of India. He is also on the editorial board of an International journal, ‘Perspectives in Management’.
