Seshadri Chari, Executive Member, was recently engaged as Consultant, UNDP, Southern Sudan, on governance. He was working on a project for the facilitation of participation of women in post-conflict multi party democratic set up in Southern Sudan. Earlier, since November 2006 he was associated with the project of capacity building of political parties in Southern Sudan in the post conflict multi party set-up.

He is currently the All India Convener of the Foreign Affairs Cell of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in India. He was the Editor of English weekly ORGANISER for 12 years since 1992. After graduating from Bombay University (M. A. History, L. L. B., and B. Com.) he worked in the tribal and coastal regions of the state of Maharashtra.

An acknowledged political commentator in leading Indian and international news channels like the BBC, CNN-IBN, NDTV, TIMES NOW, Doordarshan, All India Radio etc., Mr. Chari is a regular feature writer in a number of leading newspapers in India. As a member of High Level delegation headed by the President, Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister of India, he has visited USA, UK, Germany, Luxembourg, Portugal, Iran, Turkey, South Africa, Mauritius, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, China and neighboring countries like Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh.

He is currently engaged as Director, (International Affairs) Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) Director, Forum for Strategic & Security Studies (FSSS), General Secretary, Forum for Integrated National Security (FINS) Research Director of Chronicle Society of India for Education & Academic Research (CSIEAR), a high –profile NGO actively engaged in promoting educational activities and conducting significant research in areas like Pluralism and Democracy, Conflict Resolution, Role of religion in fostering communal harmony etc.

Editor of AGNI, the journal on strategic issues published by the FSSS. Vice President of the Indian Federation of United Nations Associations (IFUNA). Earlier, he was Member, Executive council of The Indian Institute of Mass Communications, (IIMC), Member, Managing Committee Indian Council for International Relations, (ARSP) – an NGO actively promoting international peace and understanding by networking with Indian Diaspora all over the world, Member, Advisory Committee Censor Board of India, Special Invitee & Member of NGO group of the Task Force on Interlinking of River Waters.

Some of the publications to his credit are A New Era in Indian Polity- 1996, Gyan Publishing House, New Delhi,’Jananayak’ a Pictorial Biography of the then Prime Minister Mr. AB Vajpayee and “Nepal—Emerging Republic”—2008, Gyan Publishing House, New Delhi.
